At 03-07-2001 we received a report by Hans Huiting, a journalist of the Groninger Dagblad,
of a crop circle near Stadskanaal and we like to thank Hans for reporting this formation.
The owner of the field was astonished when he cycled at a fly-over when he saw that there was
a crop circle in his field. He saw a large circle together with some other paterns like some
triangles, squares and rectangles.
The next day, july 4, we drove to Stadskanaal to do some research. The owner of the field, a
camera crew of SBS6 (Dutch television) and a reporter of the Telegraaf (Dutch newspaper), were
already inside the formation. SBS6 spend some time at the crop circle news at TV that same
night.
The formation was formed in oats. The lay was not very nice and we had the idea that the
formation was formed just before or in the weekend of 30-06/01-07. The owner of the field
could tell us that 2 years before he also had some circles in another field, some 2 kilometers
to the south of this formation. The Stadskanaal formations of 2000 laid at the west of this
formation. There were no particular details, exept that the formation was laying right under a
powerline.
