Update 08-08-2001 - Stadskanaal (2), Groningen.
Report van Eltjo Haselhoff,
Jan Willem Bobbink
and Robert Boerman.
Under normal conditions it is very easy to make a report about a visited formation, but
this time the conditions weren't 'normal'. Something strange happened. Something very strange...
After his vacation, Eltjo Haselhoff, chairman of the
DCCCS and Dutch scientist who dares to do
scientific research to the mysterious crop circle phenomenon, contact us with the question
if it was worth it to sample the Stadskanaal 2 formation. Haselhoff was the person who
proved at a scientific way that balls of light can create crop circles. I told him that
the formation was worth it and so we went for the second time to this formation.
The next day, tuesday august 7 2001, we went to Stadskanaal to sample the formation. After
walking through the formation we sampled the formation. One of the photo's shows the
'tail' of the formation. We call this formation 'Scorpion' because it loks like a scorpion. At
this photo one can see very clear that the tail had 8 circles.
Photo was taken at 07-08-2001 at 03.47 pm.
After we were ready with the sampling, we took some nice photo's from ourselves for
the archive, and I had to go to the tail to take some pole shots of the head of the formation.
When I entered the 8th circle I was stupified to see that there was a brand new circle
added to the tail! I counted and re-counted the circles of the tail. There were 9 circles
instead the 8 we counted before. During our research there was an extra circle added. Just
like that, and we didn't saw or heard anything. About 10 minutes before, Jan Willem had taken
some samples from the last circle (8th) of the tail and he didn't see a new circle. He is
200% sure that there wasn't a new circle at that time.

Eltjo and JW were walking in the 'head' of the formation when I shouted about the new
circle. First they didn't knew what I was calling, but when they stand next to me they both
believed there eyes. 'This is impossible', were our astonishing words, but the new
circle was laying at our feets. A circle which wasn't there for 10 minutes ago. The new circle
had a diameter of 1.40 metre and felt warm.
Photo was taken at 07-08-2001 at 04.45 pm.
And there we stood - the three of us. Eltjo wanted to shoot some photo's
with his digital camere, but the battery was empty. The minute before the battery had power
for another 30 minutes but now it was empty. Suddently I noticed that I felt a pain in my legs
and Eltjo felt a pain in his left hand and risk, and then, whithout a reason, I HAD to go out
of the field as soon as possible. 'Something' told me that the new circle wasn't ready yet.
After 30 minutes we deceided to enter the formation again to see if it was real what happened
30 minutes before. Eltjo, 'our' scientist, had no explanation for this mysterious new circle.
Later on I took some samples and photo's of the new circle and when journalist
Roel Toering wanted to take some
photo's, his camera didn't work the way it should be working. It was to 'slow'. I remember the
fridya before that I had some phone calls on my mobile phone and that the battery was half full.
After we went home, the battery was almost full.
The owner of the field was also amazed when we told him the news. He told us that this part
of the land was hit by lightning several times in the past.
Once we were back at the car, the owner of the field brought us some coffee, which we
appreciate very much. And man, we could use some coffee at that moment...
Update 2: 08-08-2001 - by
Jan Willem Bobbink.
In this second formation near Stadskanaal, I found some ley lines. The whole formation
contains some 20 lines in a complex pattern. Every circle of the tail had at least 2 lines
crossing. In the central circle, I found a ley centre of 7 lines. It seems that this
formation was made in between these lines. It seems if the 'eyes' of the scorpion were
looking to a nearby RTV mast...
Update 3: 09-08-2001 by Robert Boerman.
The day after we visited the Stadskanaal formation, Eltjo connected his digital camera
to his computer and was astonished to see that not one of the photo's he took inside
formation was good. 'File error' was all the computer shows.
Durins his trip to pick us up, Eltjo took a photo from a village map. Later on that would be
the only good photo which was in the camera. The rest was damaged.
Was there something on those pictures we might not see? I think there will never be
an answer to this question...
